Construction issue tracking software

Turn every field issue into a verified correction.

ProBuilder OS gives residential builders a staff-only Field Issues workflow for corrections that need more control than a task or text message. Keep the source, responsibility, evidence, resolution, and verification history attached to the project from the first report through closure.

  • Connect an issue to the exact inspection, daily-plan item, or daily log that exposed it
  • Assign priority, trade, location, responsibility, and a due date
  • Keep reported conditions separate from resolution evidence and manager verification

Corrective work needs proof

Field corrections should not disappear into texts and memory.

Quality problems can surface during an inspection, a blocked work plan, a daily log, or an ordinary project review. When the report, photos, assignee, correction, and approval live in different places, the team cannot reliably prove what changed or who verified it.

01

The source stays attached

Create a manual issue or retain the exact source revision from an eligible inspection, daily-plan item, or daily log.

02

Responsibility is explicit

Record the title, description, location, trade, priority, assignee, and due date in one project-scoped record.

03

Completion requires review

Require a resolution note and after-evidence before work can be submitted for manager verification and closure.

Connected capabilities

Everything important stays attached to the work.

Use focused workflows for each responsibility without creating another isolated source of truth.

01

Source-bound reporting

Tie corrective work to an exact eligible field record, or create it manually when the issue begins outside a scheduled source.

02

Operational ownership

Use priority, trade, location, assignee, due date, and overdue state to make the next action unambiguous.

03

Before-and-after evidence

Attach reported-condition files when useful, then retain separate resolution evidence with the correction note.

04

Controlled status lifecycle

Move work from open to in progress and ready for verification before a manager closes it or returns it for corrections.

05

Retained verification history

Preserve revision and transition history when an issue is submitted, withdrawn, rejected, verified, reopened, or voided.

06

Role-aware queues and notices

Show authorized staff their assigned, overdue, and ready-for-verification work with relevant in-app notices.

Verified correction workflow

Move from field condition to retained closeout evidence.

Each step adds the context the next person needs without exposing the Field Issue record to the client portal.

Start this workflow in ProBuilder OS
  1. 1

    Report the condition

Describe the issue, attach reported evidence when available, and retain its exact source when it came from field operations.

  2. 2

    Assign the correction

Set the responsible staff member, priority, trade, location, and due date, then move the work into progress.

  3. 3

    Document the resolution

Add the correction note and after-evidence required before submitting the issue for verification.

  4. 4

    Verify or return the work

A manager reviews the retained evidence, closes the issue, or returns it with a reason for more correction work.

The operating difference

Move beyond an informal punch list.

Before

Work gets reconstructed.

  • Punch items copied between texts, photos, and spreadsheets
  • No retained source showing what triggered the correction
  • Work marked done without separate after-evidence
  • Reopened corrections lose the earlier decision history
With ProBuilder OS

The record moves with the job.

  • One source-bound Field Issue in the project record
  • Assignee, priority, trade, location, and due date together
  • Reported conditions and resolution proof kept separate
  • Manager verification and reopening retained in history

Questions, answered

What contractors should know.

What does construction issue tracking software do?

Construction issue tracking software records a field condition, assigns responsibility, tracks its status and due date, retains supporting evidence, and preserves the verification decision. ProBuilder OS keeps that corrective-action record attached to the project and calls the workflow Field Issues.

Are Field Issues the same as a construction punch list?

They overlap, but a punch list is usually associated with a walkthrough or final closeout. Field Issues can begin earlier from an inspection, a blocked daily-plan item, a daily log, or a manual report and continue through correction, verification, closure, and reopening.

What evidence is required before an issue can be verified?

Reported-condition evidence can be attached when the issue is created, but it is not mandatory. Before an issue can be submitted for verification or closed, it must have a resolution note and at least one retained after-evidence file.

Can clients or subcontractors see Field Issues?

No. Field Issues are staff-only project records and are not exposed in the client portal. ProBuilder OS does not currently provide guest subcontractor access to this workflow.

Does linking a change order alter the issue or project contract?

No. A linked change order is a reference only. It does not automatically change scope, price, schedule, approval status, or payment information.
